• Berklee College of Music Professor (since 1976) with experience teaching the following courses: piano, vibraphone, drums, ear training, solfege, harmony, composition, arranging, theory, ensemble performance and jazz improvisation.



• Numerous recordings as a sideman and leader.



• Concert and clinic performances throughout the United States, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Mexico and Europe.



• Author of numerous articles on performance, jazz theory and improvisation published in Down Beat magazine and other trade magazines. Author of books including Berklee Practice Method Vibraphone published by Berklee Press  distributed by Hal Leonard and Exploration in Rhythm, Volume 1, Rhythmic Phrasing in Improvisation published by Advance Music (Germany).
  
  
• Composer of numerous compositions which have been recorded, published and licensed through BMI.

Instruction

• Topics in private lessons include proper technical development, sight reading skills, theory, improvisation and repertoire.
  
  
• Emphasis is placed on fundamentals, the development of proper technique and musicality. The goal is to develop the student into a well rounded musician by addressing the many components of music (good sense of time, sound, listening & reaction skills, ear training, phrasing...) on a consistent basis.

LESSON RATES AND POLICY

• Lesson rate is $35 per half hour scheduled in 30 and 60 minute increments.



• Lesson payment is due monthly on the first lesson of each month.



• No reimbursement for missed or cancelled lessons.



• Lessons are weekly or bi-monthly.
